Discover the Benefits of Solar Power for Your Agribusiness by Working with Tick Tock Energy
Customized Solar Solutions
Tick Tock Energy has installed solar systems using a wide variety of racking systems including carports, ground and roof mounts, sun tracking systems, carports, and wall-mounts. We work closely with you to understand your priorities and develop a custom solution to meet your priorities.
Careful Attention to Engineering & Construction Details
We take time to do solar right. From conceptual planning through final engineering, we design for high performance, quality and low long-term operating costs to ensure maximum lifetime yield from your solar plant.
Thorough Energy Analysis
Energy generated by solar can either 1) directly offset the facility use, 2) flow back to the grid as excess when facility load is low and solar output high, or 3) be used to charge a battery energy storage system. Modeling these energy flows under the site’s utility rate structure is critical for accurate energy cost savings analysis. Factoring potential power demand savings is necessary as well. Our engineering team focuses on these details to ensure the financial analysis is accurate as possible.
Financial & Return on Investment Analysis
Each Tick Tock Energy proposal is delivered after careful consideration of technical scope, accurate cost estimating, energy analysis, and solar incentive analysis. These factors combined allow us to make a forecast of long-term project cashflow and return-on-investment (ROI). Financing options and impact on cashflow are considered as well. We provide you with the complete information to make an informed decision custom to your solar investment opportunity.
USDA REAP Grant-Writing Services
The USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) provides financial support to agribusinesses looking to adopt renewable energy systems. Tick Tock Energy provides full-grant writing services in-house. By developing solar projects and having intimate knowledge of all project scope, energy and financial details, we have strong track record of our client’s winning grant funding.
Turnkey (Design-Build) Solar Construction Installation
After your project is carefully planned and analyzed, when you’re ready to proceed all utility interconnection and permit approvals obtained, final engineering documents are generated, permits obtained, equipment procurement completed, and site construction completed. Tick Tock Energy handles all facets of the project start-to-finish. Construction projects can be stressful. Our aim is to keep your worries low, confidence and satisfaction high.
Long-Term Monitoring, Operations & Maintenance (M+O&M) Support
Besides constructing properly engineered and quality installed solar arrays, our team provides long-term energy monitoring and operations & maintenance support. Achieving the forecasted project return-on-investment is contingent on reliable solar plant operation and high uptime. We offer proactive monitoring, operations and preventative and general solar maintenance services.
Available Financing and Incentives for Family Farm Solar
Government incentives, solar grants, and financing options can help you get the most out of your investment. When you work with Tick Tock, we evaluate your solar solution and customize your financing options, helping you apply for grants, find applicable incentives, and manage your upfront investment.
Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and Bonus Adders
Your Agribusiness can access a federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for your solar energy systems. These solar tax credits are a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the income taxes that you pay to the federal government. Until 2033, you can claim 30% of your solar system costs as a tax credit, with no cap to the value you can claim. Additional 10% bonus adders can boost this to 40% and possibly 50% if located in an energy community and use a certain level of domestic content.
Accelerated Depreciation
Solar is considered 5-year property by the IRS creating the eligibility for accelerated depreciation. At minimum, accelerated depreciation helps expense the project faster than most capital investments. Consult with your CPA and current tax law since bonus depreciation may apply allowing even faster tax write-off of the solar investment.
Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs)
SRECs provide an outstanding solar incentive that helps an Agribusiness recoup a solar system’s investment. In Illinois, SRECs can potentially cover 20% to 40% of your total solar investment. SRECs accrue as solar electricity is generated and are typically paid out quarterly or at other intervals defined by each state.
Illinois Solar Utility Rebates
If you’re a customer of Ameren-IL or Comed then obtaining the Smart Inverter Rebate (SIR) or Distributed Generation (DG) rebate are other great incentives that help recoup the cost of solar and adding battery energy storage.
USDA REAP Grant
The USDA REAP Grant program is available to agricultural producers with at least 50% of their gross income coming from agricultural operations. This grant provides up to 25% in grant funding and can provide loan guarantees to finance your energy projects. Tick Tock Energy offers grant-writing services to help you land solar grant-funding.
Solar Power Solutions for Any Agribusiness Application
Tick Tock Energy can install solar power systems on almost any property, ensuring that no matter what agricultural business you run, you can reap the rewards of energy produced by the sun.

Seed Distribution Companies
Seed distribution facilities require significant energy for storage, transportation logistics, and operational processes. By adopting solar power, you can lower energy costs and improve their sustainability practices, ensuring that your operations are cost-effective while also meeting the growing demand for eco-friendly agricultural solutions.

Grain & Feed Processing Facilities
Grain and feed processing operations involve heavy electricity use to power equipment for augers, ventilation fans, and support equipment and buildings to store, move, process, or mill grain into feed Solar power provides a reliable and on-site renewable energy source, allowing these facilities to be more sustainable, reduce electricity costs and reliance on unpredictable utility rates.

Farm Service Providers
Farm service providers, such as irrigation suppliers or agricultural consultants, can benefit from solar energy by powering their office buildings, workshops, and machinery. Solar installations help reduce operating costs, allowing you to offer more competitive pricing and improve your profitability, all while demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.

Farm Implement Dealers & Manufacturers
Farm implement dealerships and equipment manufacturers are idea sites for solar energy systems. These businesses typically have large expansive metal rooftop areas or in some cases adjacent land for a ground mounted solar system. From supporting a maintenance department to help farmers keep their equipment running to more energy-intensive manufacturing facilities, solar helps lower electricity costs and running a more profitable business.
