Tick Tock Energy specializes in crafting custom solar installation solutions for businesses in the Midwest. Explore our available roof mounting systems and contact our experts to create the perfect solar system for your needs.

Mounting Options to Fit Any Property

When considering solar power for your business, you have several mounting options available that cater to different needs and property characteristics. Whether you’re aiming to maximize energy production, optimize available space, or provide additional functional benefits like shaded parking, Tick Tock Energy can help you find the right mounting system.

From rooftop installations that take advantage of existing structures to ground-mounted systems ideal for properties with ample land, and even innovative solutions like carport mounts that serve dual purposes, each option offers unique advantages. Tick Tock primarily installs solar power systems in the following locations:

Rooftop Mounted

The most popular approach, Tick Tock Energy can install solar power systems on flat membrane roofs, metal panel, and standing seam metal roofs and turn your roof into a power generating asset.

Fixed or Ballasted Ground Mounts

If you have available ground area next to your business, commonly employ ground-mounted solar panels on fixed-tilt ground mount racks. A low-profile ballasted ground-mount is another ideal solution as well.

1 or 2-Axis Solar Trackers

If you have ground space but need to maximize power production, a high energy yield solution such as a 1-axis or 2-axis solar tracker may be better option over fixed ground mount. We consider the solution tailored to best meet your facility’s needs.

Hybrid Solutions

Often the power needs of larger facilities requires more solar than what the roof or ground alone can generate. Tick Tock Energy has crafted hybrid systems using roof and ground-mounted systems combined to boost energy production and value.

Carports

With Tick Tock Energy, we turn parking lots into solar energy generators. Your customers and employees will love covered solar powered parking and works great when an EV charging station is included.

Commercial Solar Power Incentives & Financing

Government incentives, solar grants, and financing options can help you get the most out of your investment. When you work with Tick Tock, we evaluate your solar solution and customize your financing options, helping you apply for grants, find applicable incentives, and manage your upfront investment.

Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

The ITC provides up to 30% tax credit with potential for additional 10% bonus adders for being located in an Energy Community and/or using enough materials that are produced domestically in the US.

5-Year Accelerated Depreciation (MACRS) / Bonus Depreciation

The Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) allows capital investments to be depreciated over a defined period of time. . The IRS classifies solar PV equipment as 5-year property, allowing a commercial taxpaying entity to expense or write-off a solar investment quickly.  Congress often authorizes Bonus Depreciation allowing more rapid depreciation than the conventional MACRS approach.

Illinois Smart Inverter Rebate

As Illinois makes a strong push to get more energy from renewable sources, creating a more dynamic or “smart grid” allows utilities to leverage deployed solar inverters for voltage support and other reasons.  Customers of Ameren and Comed territories can capture this incentive by opting to take this incentive after installing a solar panel installation.

Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs)

SRECs provide an outstanding solar incentive that helps an owner recoup a solar system’s investment. In Illinois, SRECs can potentially cover 20% to 40% of your total solar investment. SRECs accrue as solar electricity is generated and are typically paid out quarterly or at other intervals defined by each State.

Ground-Level Designs

Ground-Mounted Solar Panels

Some businesses have a side lot or available land which often the better option instead of mounting solar on a rooftop. Ground-mounted fixed tilt racks or solar tracker options provide streamlined construction, easier long-term equipment access and typically higher energy production per square foot of area.

Ballasted Solar Arrays for Flat Roofs

The most popular approach for flat roof solar mounting is a low-profile rack weighed down with concrete ballast blocks. This rack type is suitable for any type of membrane or epoxy-coated roof type and are usually tilted at 10 degrees.  We often provide roof-integrated racking systems as a lighter weight and cost-effective alternative to heavier ballasted racking systems.

Solar Mounting on Metal Panel Roofs

Metal panel roofs are a common application Tick Tock Energy encounters for farm and small to medium commercial buildings. We have extensive experience installing solar on these type of roofs. Typically panels are mounted flush with the angle of the roof and provide a great-looking finish to your facility.

Solar Mounting on Standing Seam Metal Roofs

If your business has a metal roof with standing seams, Tick Tock Energy will easily adapt a solar energy rack that fastens securely to these seams. This achieves fast, secure, and efficient solar mounting.  For many roofs to the rack can include 10 degree tilt for boosting energy production.
