Non-Profit & Public Facilities: Solar Energy for Critical Service Providers
This program segment requires eligible organizations to provide vital community services, also known as a Critical Service Provider (CSP). If your organization meets this requirement, you may qualify for fully funded solar installations with no upfront cost.
Not a Critical Service Provider?
If your facility doesn’t meet these criteria, you can still apply for an SREC incentive under the standard Adjustable Block Program (ABP) which Tick Tock Energy also supports. Click below to learn more about Illinois Adjustable Block Program.
Who Qualifies as a Critical Service Provider?
Organizations must meet two key criteria:
1. Mission-Based Requirement
Your organization must deliver essential services to low-income or environmental justice communities. Examples include:
- Worship centers (Churches)
- Health Clinics
- Food Pantries
- Shelters
- Community Centers
- Educational Nonprofits
2. Energy Burden Requirement
Your facility must demonstrate a high energy burden, meaning a significant portion of your operating budget goes toward energy costs. This ensures solar will have a meaningful financial impact
Additional Eligibility Notes
- You do not need to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, but you must be a non-profit or public-serving entity.
- Facilities must be located in Illinois and serve low-income or environmental justice communities.
- Tick Tock Energy can help assess your eligibility and guide you through the application process.
