Castle Pub, a historic Mattoon destination, set out to expand its outdoor space and increase capacity—but needed a way to manage rising energy use while improving the guest experience.
The Castle contacted Tick Tock Energy to add this exciting new outdoor canopy to solve high electricity costs while creating a new outdoor seating area. The solar canopy now helps keep guests cool while watching bands in the new outdoor stage. Tick Tock Energy worked with Lumos Solar to design this new 1,500 square structure with integrated solar panels. The Lumos-built solar panels allows some light transmittance and great look underneath. Besides the solar canopy, Tick Tock Energy also revamped the entire electrical service to the facility.
Moving forward, the solar canopy will substantially lower electric bills, suppress daytime electric demand, support the Castle’s expanding customer base and provide a durable canopy built for decades of performance.
