Effingham, IL – Local solar installer, Tick Tock Energy, is proud to be named a top U.S. solar contractor for the 9th year in row.

The Top Solar Contractors List is developed each year by industry magazine Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers in the United States. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by the number of kilowatts they installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific services, markets and states.  Ranked #352 out of over 10,000 solar contractors in the nation, Tick Tock Energy energized 1,003 kilowatts (kW) of solar installations in homes, farms, businesses, and non-profit facilities in 2022.

Celebrating 17 years in business, Tick Tock Energy is central Illinois’ longest-established solar installer, a true pioneer in the solar energy industry.  Competition can be fierce in Illinois, the 5th largest state for solar installation (behind California, Texas, New York and Florida), but Tick Tock Energy’s longevity is due in large part to serving residential, farm and commercial customers with a consistent focus on customer issues, making quality personal.

The momentum for solar continues to grow. The United States reported its strongest first-quarter ever in Q1 2023 for solar panels installed, and industry analysts expect the solar market to triple in size over the next five years.

“Renewable energy accounts for a quarter of U.S. electrical generation, now far exceeding electricity produced by burning coal,” said Kelsey Misbrener, managing editor of Solar Power World. “Solar power is an important member of that renewable makeup, and companies on the Top Solar Contractors List are all contributing to our country’s shift to cleaner electricity. We are honored to recognize them each year for their necessary work putting green kilowatts on roofs, over parking lots, in desert locations and across water reservoirs. Every project is making a difference.”

Solar’s benefits are a much-needed alternative to the status quo of fossil fuels, now more than ever.  In 2022, local electricity rates continued to rise rapidly, particularly for Ameren customers.  In fact, the electricity market as a whole has faced some volatility, as the state of Illinois continues to set lofty goals for phasing out fossil fuels.  These policies, while admirable for environmental reasons, also cause supply constraints.  Customers face the brunt of these changes via higher electrical bills, and need to be aware that energy policies will continue to cause price volatility in the future.  In many cases, high energy prices, combined with current inflation, have put a squeeze on both families and businesses.

Tick Tock Energy, a Top Solar Contractor Award Winner 9 years running, is a family-owned company in Effingham, Illinois that has nearly 20 years of experience providing customized solar solutions for residential, farm, business, and non-profit customers.  The company prides itself on educating consumers about the benefits of solar energy and assisting their clients to break free of dependence on the standard electrical grid.
